Cina Associates

Nice graphic/illustration work above by Cina Associates, created for the Computer Arts Magazine. I've only just found about about this company yet they've worked for some huge brand names including Pepsi, Coca-Cola, Fox and Mazda. Their online portfolio includes some very strong branding work and is definitely worth a look.

Akatre

French based design studio Akatre have recently updated their online portfolio with graphic design, photography and publication work. Founded by 3 students who all met at university, they aim to produce "good design [that] answers to the problematic of a brief with an extra conceptual vision."

Learn Something New Everyday!

Just found this website titled 'Learn Something New Everyday', a daily project by UK design company 'Young'. They post an illustrated fact everyday, above is today's fact from April 30th.

Naz Hamid

Some striking photography of stormy skies by Naz Hamid here. He is also the founder of 'Weightshift' design company based in San Fransisco and Chicago, whose stuff is well worth a look at.

Creative Packaging

Looking into alternative packaging techniques for our new uni brief, I came across this bag designed by Cyberpac that was used for the November issue of CR. When you no longer need it, stick it in a bowl of water (or in your dishwasher or washing machine...), let it dissolve and pour it down the drain! Bit different.

Described as a "readily biodegradable, water soluble polymer which completely biodegrades in a composting environment", it should even hold up in the rain. Wonder if we'll all have to start pouring our shopping bags down the drain in the future.

Fwis Design - Readymech

After being briefed for our new 'Creative Meaning' project i stumbled on these nifty little toys designed by Fwis, a design firm based in Brooklyn. I was looking for ways to market an object in an engaging way and found these free flat-pack toys that you can print out and assemble yourself.

Take a look at more of their work at Fwis Design. They've got some really creative and playful stuff going on. I'm especially loving their quirky illustrations! Seems to be their signature thing.
