Looking into alternative packaging techniques for our new uni brief, I came across this bag designed by Cyberpac that was used for the November issue of CR. When you no longer need it, stick it in a bowl of water (or in your dishwasher or washing machine...), let it dissolve and pour it down the drain! Bit different.
Described as a "readily biodegradable, water soluble polymer which completely biodegrades in a composting environment", it should even hold up in the rain. Wonder if we'll all have to start pouring our shopping bags down the drain in the future.
I've always seen post-it notes as things that have never been designed to be aesthetically pleasing. They're there simply to remind us forgetful people to do whatever it is we will forget to do. But the people over at Japanese design studio D-Bros have come up with something different to the yellowy rectangles I normally scribble on. These fruity post-it notes can even be ordered in mini crates! I like the way in which they've actually created a design for an item I would never have normally given a second glance. They've managed to design something really creative, fun and different out of such a dull object! Check out the D-Bros website here.
After being briefed for our new 'Creative Meaning' project i stumbled on these nifty little toys designed by Fwis, a design firm based in Brooklyn. I was looking for ways to market an object in an engaging way and found these free flat-pack toys that you can print out and assemble yourself. Check them out at their Readymech website here. Take a look at more of their work at Fwis Design. They've got some really creative and playful stuff going on. I'm especially loving their quirky illustrations! Seems to be their signature thing.
My 'Reflective Journal' is a place where I can share my design related thoughts, document my experiences, reflect on my final year as a BAGC student and show you what inspires me to be creative.
